About us
Small Victory is shotgun-style, 40 seat cocktail bar in the old Mike’s Pub space on 7th street, between Brazos and Congress. Josh Loving and Laura Maddox developed the program at Small Victory to highlight classic cocktail recipes, and their in-house Clinebell ice program. All ice used to shake, stir, and serve drinks is hand-cut from large-format, perfectly clear, 300 lb blocks. This gives the Small Victory team enhanced control of temperature and dilution when making and serving drinks, which is the key to making the best quality classic cocktails. The drinks made at Small Victory are mostly classics, sourced from bar manuals, and cocktail recipe books from the last 150 years, as well as contemporary bars making modern interpretations of the classics. Since their opening date in 2016, Small Victory has earned accolades from the Eater Awards, Austin American Statesman, Austin Culturemap Tastemakers, Timeout, Esquire’s 50 Best Bars, Esquire’s Best Martinis in America, Playboy’s Top 50 Bars, and World’s 50 Best
